Welcome to Year 6 at St. Clare's Catholic Primary School
As your children approach the culmination of their primary education at St. Clare's Catholic Primary, we focus intensively on nurturing their resilience. This critical year is designed to equip pupils with the inner strength to face challenges and transitions with confidence. Our committed staff supports each child to develop a resilient mindset, which is vital for their upcoming transition to secondary education and beyond.
In Year 6, we emphasize the importance of being hard-working. Our curriculum is rigorous and enriched with activities that promote intellectual engagement and a strong work ethic. Students are encouraged to embrace challenges and strive for excellence in all their endeavours. Through projects, homework, and classroom participation, Year 6 pupils learn the value of diligence and perseverance.
At St. Clare's, we believe in fostering a caring environment where every student feels valued and supported. Year 6 is a pivotal time for developing empathy and cooperative skills. Our teachers and staff model caring behaviours and encourage students to look out for one another, creating a close-knit community within the classroom and the wider school environment.
Staying focused is a key theme throughout the Year 6 experience. With the approach of key stage tests and the transition to secondary school, our curriculum helps students hone their ability to concentrate and remain engaged. We provide structured learning experiences that enhance focus, alongside techniques to manage distractions effectively. This ensures that our pupils are well-prepared for the academic demands ahead.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 6 pupils embody the core values of resilience, hard work, caring, and focus. These qualities not only prepare them for the next stage of their educational journey but also for a successful and fulfilling life. We invite you to support and participate in your child's Year 6 experience, helping us to foster these essential skills and attributes at St. Clare's Catholic Primary.
